Through creating art in a group setting, participants can cope with stresses and traumatic experiences, enhance cognitive abilities, enjoy the life-affirming pleasures of making art, improve self-esteem and use these cumulative benefits to produce healthy and positive change in their lives.

 

Shoe installation at Rowan Museum for Child Abuse Prevention Month ‘23

Art Installation in partnership with Terrie Hess Child Advocacy Center

An installation of 250 pairs of children’s shoes displayed on the lawn of the Rowan Museum in downtown Salisbury in April 2023. Each pair of shoes represents a child abuse case that Terrie Hess CAC has identified, investigated, prosecuted, and treated during 2022.

Wildabout Walkabout Scavenger Hunt, Johnson City, NC

The Wildabout Walkabout is an animal sculpture scavenger hunt in downtown Johnson City. In 2020 and 2022, art students and faculty in the East Tennessee State University Department of Art & Design designed and fabricated the bronze animal sculptures under the direction of professor Travis Graves.
